The studio offers classes for children age 2 ½ to adult. The preschool program, “Introduction to Music, Movement & Dance”, is offered to children age 2 ½ to 5. Students 5 and older may choose from ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, hip hop, modern and acrobatics classes. Ballet class is recommended for all students, as it provides a good foundation for all other dance forms. Every spring a show is produced. All aspects of the show are meticulously planned and organized, making it a wonderful experience for both the performer and parent. Dancers are proud to be part of a professional show, and delighted when they are presented with a trophy for their performance. All students are given a chance to participate, however it is not mandatory. The studio also has a dance company for the more serious student. The Center Stage Dance Company competes and performs. They have earned prestigious awards and titles at both regional and national competitions. The company has done many benefit performances and are always proud to help raise money and awareness for a worthy cause. The company is for dancers age 7 and older and is by audition. The studio is led by the director, Ann Marie Coelho. She has been teaching dance for 20 years. She has a BA in dance and economics from Rutger’s College, Rutger’s University. Her choreography has won numerous awards at both regional and national dance competitions. Her passion for dance and teaching has kept students training here for the past 15 years. She takes great pride in teaching classes of all ages. She is also a “dance mom” herself, with two little ballerinas of her own. Website Created by DanceWebDesign. Inc. |
